Around the age of 12, Deana began working at her aunt and uncle’s salon. During that time, one of the things that stood out to her the most was the interaction between her aunt and uncle and the customers that walked through their doors. She really started to see the sense of community – and more importantly – the friendships that developed at their salon. Deana knew immediately that this was something she wanted for her future.
She is a 1986 graduate of Baldwin Area High School. During high school Deana focused her studies on cosmetology at Steel Center Vo-Tech. Following high school graduation, she attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy for advanced classes. She earned her cosmetology license in 1987 and continues her education by attending hair shows and classes on a regular basis, keeping her on top of all the latest styles and trends.
Creations In Hair was started in 1991. The goal of the salon is to provide a personal and professional experience for each and every customer. Deana can’t count the number of times that customers have told her how much they feel like they are part of her family. Her daughters, Alexia and Natalia, and her son, Lorenzo, are very important to Deana. So when her customers tell her that, it really warms her heart.
Loving what she does has become quite apparent to anyone that takes a seat in her salon chair. As soon as she places her scissors in her hand, Deana’s artistic ability immediately takes over. Creations In Hair customer’s happiness and complete satisfaction are always at the forefront and is what sets this salon apart.
